A lot of people think Spinning isn't particularly "fun." They're not even all that wrong - it can be a beast of a workout, and all you have to look at is the clock, the wall, or a bunch of sweaty butts all around you.

For those who want to dive into what can be one of the most efficient and effective workouts but be more entertained, try a virtual cycling DVD. They are movies you play on any screen in front of your bike (or at the club, projected in front of the class) that utilize a first-person perspective and take you on a virtual ride through various locations.

One of the best is made by Global Ride (www.globalride.net) - they take you to exotic locations like Hawaii and Italy, have multiple coaching tracks, good music, even yoga, pilates or strength training to follow the ride. It makes Spinning more fun, more tolerable, has great scenery and makes your exercise not seem like it was 399 hours long like indoor cycling often can feel.

Give it a shot - Spinning really is an ultimate workout, and things like this can even make it fun!
